Become a Career Mentor to a Herts graduate

Mentor applications for the 2026 scheme are now closed.

Each year, we invite professionals across any industry to take part in our three-month Career Mentoring scheme, supporting recent Herts graduates as they take their next steps into the world of work.

Mentoring is a rewarding way to:

  • share your career experience and insights
  • develop your coaching and leadership skills
  • expand your professional network
  • help a graduate discover their potential.

This year, we’re focusing on supporting recent male graduates who are still seeking graduate level employment six months after finishing their studies. As a mentor, you’ll help them build confidence, strengthen their job applications and interview performance, and gain valuable insight into professional life.

At Herts, around 75% of our full-time UK undergraduate students have one or more characteristics that mean they might face additional challenges in reaching their full potential. Mentoring plays a key role in helping us to make a difference, giving mentees valuable support, professional insight, and career confidence as they start their journeys beyond university.
